2 Days, 1 Night Lake Elementaita Safari from Nairobi offers a short holiday to the Great Rift Valley lakes to enjoy the beautiful scenery, birds as well as wildlife.)

Lake Elementaita attracts many visiting flamingoes and the shores are grazed by zebra, gazelle, eland and families of warthog. At the southern end of the Lake lies the “Kekopey” hot springs, which the Tilapia grahami breed. The springs are very popular for bathing. The local Masai’s claim that it can cure many diseases. The reed beds nearby are fishing grounds for night herons and pelicans.

Nearby is the Kariandusi Museum, at an important prehistoric site where stone hand axes and cleavers were discovered in 1929 by Louis Leakey.

Day 1Nairobi to Lake Elementaita

Distance: 145 km. (2 hours)
Commence drive to Lake Elementaita, experiencing the breathtaking dramatic landscape of the Great Rift Valley en route. You will be treated to a truly remarkable game walk that includes Flamingos as well as other species of birdlife in this ornithological paradise.
